Valda has over twenty years’ experience leading and delivering research projects on an international scale into the health and social care arena, including many organisations supplying the sector.
Her background, initially in project management on major capital build programmes followed by fourteen years as Managing Director of one of the largest suppliers of social research in the North, has translated into an understanding of the fundamental research needs of organisations in order to drive business decisions. Her extensive experience in leading intelligence based, data gathering exercises has been used by many of her clients to inform product and service redesign, sales strategies, marketing campaigns and ROI exercises.
Working as far back as 1997 with HIV patients on a regional assessment of services and suitability of medication, she has subsequently been responsible for national projects across the NHS, working with patients, families and HCP’s involved in end of life, Alzheimer and dementia, COPD, diabetes and paediatric care. More recently she was responsible for heading up the design, development and roll out of a web based patient engagement toolkit, which was commissioned by NHS acute trusts and went on to be recognised nationally, winning a number of patient engagement awards and forming the basis to other developments including working with the World Health Organisation.
Valda also specialises in initiating and managing research led collaborations on behalf of her clients in order to grow and re focus existing business. Partnerships in the past have included the NHS, DoH, BT Global and BT Health, Panasonic Europe, Toshiba, Fujitsu, The Picker Institute Europe and Motion Computing.
