E RADAR's Director of Research Dr Daniel Dresner will be speaking at the Global Security Summit at Kensington Olympia, London on 11th October 2012.
Daniel is a well respected authority on information security, assurance and governance advising at board level across blue chip companies, central and local government. He also works with small and medium-sized enterprises. His hands on approach makes sure that standards are translated into pragmatic policies, and policies fly off the page and into the hearts and minds of the people responsible for information safety. Daniel's knowledge-transfer approach has made his ISO/IEC 27001 consultancy very popular. He evangelises the realities of information risk and its treatment to computer science postgraduates at the University of Manchester (where he is a visiting lecturer). Daniel has managed and been the co-architect of programmes for software quality, information assurance for SMEs, and wrote the first international standards for source code escrow.
Daniel's PhD research has led to a method for detecting the human vulnerabilities in network security and a unique approach to security awareness. He's a founder member of the Institute of Information Security Professionals and chaired the North West England Branch of for three years from its inception.
When not securing information, Daniel works for the security of his children and the honour of his parents. His personal interests range from Jewish tradition to science fiction. Daniel's knowledge of Doctor Who lore is tiring for the E RADAR team, especially now he's also been appointed graphic artist of the Blake's 7 Appreciation Society. But he does keep a wicked Darth Vader mask on his desk ready for when the empire strikes back!
It just goes to show...
