General Data Protection Regulation

About this e Learning Course

E RADAR's Certificate on the new EU General Data Protection Regulation.

E RADAR's e learning course and certificate on the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) aims to help key decision makers in organisations understand the complex rules set out under the EU's new data protection legal framework.

These rules come into force in the European Union in May 2018. Despite Brexit, the UK government has already signalled that it will introduce the GDPR on time. Its implementation is likely to take place ahead of the UK's Great Repeal Bill which aims to:

  • the repeal of the European Communities Act 1972;
  • how the UK government will convert EU law into UK law;
  • how legislators will  make corrections to the statute book, to make sure the law continues to work once we have left the EU.

The regulation will probably affect most organisations that process personal data such as that contained in customer lists and staff records.

About our course

E RADAR's course explains the similarities with the existing UK Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA) as well as describe some of the new and different features and requirements.

We have written the course for those who have day-to-day responsibility for data protection, such as board-level directors. Plus senior managers and members of staff who want to know more about how data protection works in their organisation.

In addition, we have based our course upon the 12-step approach to compliance set out by the UK's data protection regulator.
